Samsung paid big for Oscar placement, but Ellen used an iPhone backstage

Samsung was a big sponsor of Sunday night's Academy Awards ceremony on ABC, with ads for its TVs, smartphones and Galaxy Gear smartwatches running throughout the show. However, while Degeneres was snapping selfies onstage and in the star-studded audience with a Samsung device, backstage she was using an iPhone to tweet photos.
